Uzbekistan increased import of Kazakh wheat in January-May, up to 32.9%

Almaty. June 30. Silkroadnews - Kazakhstan exported in January-May to Uzbekistan 401.1 thousand tons of wheat and mixture of wheat and rye, totaling to $67.8 million, which is 32.9% more in volume and 39.5% - in value than in the same period of 2014, informed the State Revenue Committee (SRC) of the Ministry of Finance.
As indicated in published statistical data on the website of SRC, excluding Russia and Belarus, Kazakh wheat export in January-May amounted to 1.1 million tons worth $246.2 million, which is 41% less in volume and 45.9% - in value.
The largest consumers of Kazakh wheat in addition to Uzbekistan are Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Iran, Italy, Azerbaijan, China, Afghanistan, Turkey.
