Uzbekistan initiated setting a joint business council with Tajikistan

Beijing. February 27. Silkroadnews - Uzbekistan initiated setting a joint business council with Tajikistan, the Tajik Telegraph Agency (TajikTA) reported on Tuesday citing the chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of Uzbekistan Adham Ikramov.
The first meeting of the Tajik-Uzbek Business Council will be held as a part of the state visit of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Tajikistan scheduled for March.
Within the framework of the Business Council, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan will discuss issues of interest of two nations’ entrepreneurs and sign export-import contracts amounting to around $15 million, the chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan said.
Reportedly on March 7-9, 2018, Dushanbe will host exhibition-sale of Uzbek goods, as well as a forum of business circles of two countries.
The forthcoming meetings are expected to result in mutually beneficial agreements to raise the level of Tajik-Uzbek relations, expand dialogue between two states’ entrepreneurs and increase trade and economic performances readings, the CCI head said.
