Uzbekistan plans to increase its GDP more than twofold by 2030, said the country’s president

Almaty. May 11. Silkroadnews – Uzbekistan plans to increase its GDP more than twofold by 2030, said the country’s president Islam Karimov, Uzbek news agency (UzTAG) reports.

“The long-term goals and objectives we have set today, including increase of our GDP more than twofold by 2030, strengthens our confidence in the future. And, indeed, we are not up in any way to the most developed countries, living freely and safely in prosperity, raising and improving quality of life of our people,” Islam Karimov said in his congratulatory speech to veterans of the Second World War and participants of the labor front.

The president also urged the younger generation to be more active in the state’s development.

“Once again I appeal to our younger generation, my children: always be motivated and challenging, tomorrow and the future are yours! Who will come to replace us tomorrow? Young people thinking independently, in a new way, those, who have mastered contemporary knowledge and professions, capable to take responsibility for tomorrow, show their potential and possibilities,” the president said.
