Uzbekistan’s GDP grew by 7.5% in the first quarter

Almaty. April 18. Silkroadnews – In the first quarter of this year, Uzbekistan’s GDP increased by 7.5%, the Uzbek Telegraph Agency (UzTAG) reported.

“During the first quarter of this year the gross domestic product increased by 7.5%. The volume of industrial production increased by 7%, agriculture – by 6.7%, retail trade turnover – by 12.8%,” the publication says.
According to the ministry of economy, the state budget was executed with a surplus of 0.1% of GDP. The inflation rate did not exceed the projection.  

The measures taken on priority development of modern services, primarily based on the information and communication technologies, provided 12.1% services volume growth of 12.1 % and increase in their share in GDP up to 59.5% compared to 59.3% in the first quarter of 2015.
