Uzbekistan’s population base is more than 31.8 million people

Almaty. July 21. Silkroadnews – Since the beginning of this year the population of Uzbekistan increased by 231.7 thousand people, Uzbek Telegraph Agency (UzTAG) reports with reference to information department of the Republic’s State Committee on Statistics.
“According to preliminary data, the republic’s resident population base amounted to 31.807 million people as of July 1, 2016, and increased by 231.7 thousand people or 0.7% since the beginning of the year”, the statement said.
It is noted, the urban population base was 16,110,000 people (50.6% of the total population), with the rural population base of 15,697,000 people (49.4%).
