Almaty. October 2. Silkroadnews - Since October 1, 2015 in Uzbekistan will operate a register of unscrupulous exporters of fruits and vegetables, potatoes, melons and grapes, as well as their founders. A decree is approved by the government of the republic.
The registry will be under responsibility of Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade. It will get companies with overdue receivables under foreign trade contracts and untimely authorized banks selling part of the revenue in foreign currency from the export of agricultural products. Companies who are in the registry, will not be allowed to engage in export activities untill they correct deficiencies.
The document also changed the rules for the export of agricultural products from Uzbekistan. Now, from September 1, 2015 the government allowed to export fruit and vegetables, potatoes, melons and grapes only by rail and air transport.
According to independent experts, the measure is aimed at tightening control over exports to replenish foreign exchange reserves of Uzbekistan.
