Uzbekistan to fully cancel visa regime for 15 countries as of April 1, 2017

Almaty. December 7. Silkroadnews – Since April 1, 2017 Uzbekistan will completely abolish the visa regime for tourists from 15 countries, the due decree was signed by President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Uzbek Telegraph Agency (UzTAG) informs.

According to the document, the list of 15 states includes Australia, Austria, Great Britain, Germany, Denmark, Spain, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Republic of Korea, Singapore, Finland, Switzerland and Japan.

In addition, the visa-free regime is introduced for tourists aged 55 or over from another 12 countries including Belgium, Indonesia, China (as part of tourist groups), Malaysia, US, France, Vietnam, Israel, Poland, Hungary, Portugal and the Czech Republic.

Visa-free regime will apply to foreign citizens arriving to the Republic as tourists for a period not exceeding 30 days.
The country also plans to undertake a number of measures to significantly simplify the procedure for obtaining visas, including using online application forms system, as well as introduction of electronic visas system in 2018.
