Uzbekistan to reach complete cotton processing by 2021
Almaty. November 8. Silkroadnews – By 2021 Uzbekistan plans to reach complete processing of cotton fiber produced in the country and grow twice the country’s textile exports, UzTAG informs.
By 2021 the ministry of economy projects to raise the textile, clothing and knitwear output by 2.2 times compared to 2016, including the finished fabrics – by 2.7 times, knitted fabrics – by 3 times, clothing and knitwear products – by 3.4 times, and stocking – by 3.7 times.
To achieve the goal in the textile, clothing and knitwear industry in 2017-2021 it is planned to implement 140 projects with more than $2.2 billion of investments.
It is projected to establish the textile complexes, specialized in production of finished products through the implementation of vertically integrated, 4-stage scheme of the base raw materials processing, especially in densely populated regions. It will also create over 27 thousand of new jobs.
