Uzbekistan to start fixed-run taxi assembling

Almaty. February 2. Silkroadnews – Uzbekistan plans starting assembly production for modern minibuses for fixed-run taxi, Uzbek Telegraph Agency (UzTAG) reports.

“Minibuses assembly is planned to start in Samarqand with foreign manufacturer support”, the publication states with reference to Sputnik.

At present the Uzbek side is studying the possibility of some of the leading international companies in this field. It is planned to start assembly in 2018 to provide high quality buses for suburban and regional routes. Increased focus will be put on a 11-seats and 18-seats minibuses that will include standees as well.

New vehicles will serve to ensure comfortable passenger service on more than 300 new routes in suburban and intercity transportation. They are scheduled to be opened within the next four years.

Besides, there are around 4.3 thousand regular routes, many of which experience deficit of modern equipment.
