Uzbekistan will direct nearly $20 million to the fight against AIDS in 2014-2016

Tashkent. September 15. Silkroadnews - The Government of Uzbekistan in 2014-2016 will send nearly $20 million to the fight against the spread of AIDS. The corresponding decree was made ​​public on Monday.
Document approved a three-year state program in the field of combating the spread of HIV infection. The program provides a set of measures for the prevention activities, strengthening the material-technical base of centers for AIDS and health care institutions, as well as training and skills development. Program will be financed by the state budget and grants from international financial institutions.
In particular, the program provides an annual survey on HIV migrants leaving for work in the CIS countries, in particular Russia. According to Uzbek specialists, these measures will increase the effectiveness of early detection and prevention of further spread of HIV infection among migrant workers and their families.
According to official data, in Uzbekistan with a population of 31 million people currently officially are registered more than 27.5 thousand  infected with HIV.
