Uzbekistan will increase inductrial production by 1.5 times by 2020
Almaty. April 6. Silkroadnews - Within the framework of approved by the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov program of measures to ensure structural reforms, modernization and diversification of production in 2015-2019, by 2020 Republic intends to increase industrial production by 1.5 times compared to 2014, reports Trend.
In accordance with the program, these indicators will be achieved through the implementation of 846 investment projects for the construction, modernization, technical and technological renewal of production worth $40.809 billion, including 711 developed projects worth $19.64 billion and 135 promising projects in the amount of $21.17 billion.
In particular, the modernization of existing and creation of new power generating facilities must ensure the growth of electricity production by 1.2 times - up to 68.7 million kW/h - through the introduction of resource-combined-cycle plants and advanced technologies for the use of solar energy.
Program planned the development of such high-tech industries such as mechanical engineering, oil and gas, petrochemical, chemical, textile and food industries, with the increase of their share in the industry from 62% (in 2014) to 67% (in 2020).
Totally in the field of geology, fuel and energy complex, chemical, petrochemical and metallurgical industries is planned to implement 124 investment projects on technological renewal of production and 48 new promising investment projects, development of 100 new product groups.
As a result, the annual production and export potential of the industry of Uzbekistan in 2020 will be increased by 18 trillion soums or $2 billion respectively.
Funding for the program will be provided by the state budget, own funds of enterprises, the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan, loans of domestic banks, foreign investments and loans.
