Uzbekistan will not enter into associations like the Soviet Union, says President

Almaty. January 13. Silkroadnews - Uzbek President Islam Karimov said that the country will never enter into associations such as the former Soviet Union, informs KazTAG.
"We have our own way of development that meets the aspirations of the people. I want to reiterate that we will not return to the past. Uzbekistan will never enter into associations such as the former Soviet Union",- quoted local media Karimov, speaking on Monday at the first meeting of the newly elected legislature (lower) chamber of Parliament.
Uzbek President noted that currently some countries make attempts to return to the old Soviet Union system. "Some foreign TV channels note the praise of Lenin and Stalin era, the era of the Soviet Union. This approach is unacceptable to us",- he said.
Karimov reiterated that Uzbekistan will not allow its territory to foreign military bases and installations. According to him, it is envisaged the concept of foreign policy of Uzbekistan, adopted in 2012.
