Uzbekistan will open abroad 44 sites for presidential elections
Almaty. February 4. Silkroadnews - The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Uzbekistan adopted a resolution on the establishment of 44 overseas polling stations for the presidential elections, which will be held on March 29 of this year, reported UzTAG.
According to the press service of the Central Election Commission, polling stations will be opened near representative offices of Uzbekistan in foreign countries. In particular, in Russia and Kazakhstan.
On January 19, CEC took decision to allow all 4 registered political parties to participate in presidential elections. Registration of candidates for the presidency ends 35 days before the election.
Previous presidential elections were held in Uzbekistan in 2007, according to the results for a period of 7 years was elected Islam Karimov, who rules a republic since 1989. According to the law, voting may participate any citizens of Uzbekistan over 18 years of age, except personalities recognized incompetent by a court, as well as people held in detention.
