Washington not to negotiate with Taliban without Kabul’s participation - U.S. Department of State

Beijing. March 1. Silkroadnews - The Taliban’s address to the United States on the negotiations reveals lack of readiness to move toward peace talks, the Afghan Telegraph Agency (AfTAG) reported citing the U.S. State Department spokesperson Heather Nauert.
At the beginning of the week, the Taliban office in Qatar expressed interest in peace talks with the U.S. and called on the American side to dialogue. With this the Taliban has once again ignored the government of Afghanistan.
Speaking to journalists Nauert confirmed the State Department’s considered the Taliban offer and said any peace talks related to Afghanistan should be led and backed by the Afghan side.
