Hague. March 26. Silkroadnews – Western sanctions against Russia will not affect Kazakhstan, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev reckons.
“So far, the sanctions have not affected the economy, as you see.  We do not observe any economic sanctions and it cannot possibly have an effect on us, because Kazakhstan is not within this problematic spectrum of issues. If it was to ever happen, it would happen between Russia and the West”,  said President Nazarbayev at the Press Conference within the framework of the Nuclear Security Summit in Hague.
All my conversations reassured me that the Cold War discourse goes away, everybody comes to realise that whatever happened – happened, and that now it’s time to seek for peaceful resolution of the situation. I have advocated for approximately the same thing, as confrontation does not lead to anything”, Kazakh leader said.
President Nazarbayev also highlighted that the very fact of consensus is a sign that modern times dictate compliance to international norms and regulations.
