With Kazakhstan's help Ukraine expects to provide itself with uranium ore in 1.5 years

Almaty. 24 August. Silkroadnews – In a year and a half Ukraine plans to fully meet one's needs for uranium ore, TASS reports.

«In a year and a half we fully provide the Ukrainian energy needs with uranium ore», Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Igor Nasalik said.

According to him, this will become possible due to the recent agreement made with Kazakhstan.

«We will conduct joint development and production of uranium ore in Kazakhstan», the minister added, having noted that «the cost is the cheapest there, around $30, and they will provide us with the latest technologies to use».

I. Nasalik also said the meeting on this project with partners from Kazakhstan will be held in Kiev on September 18.

He added «the Kazakhstani side, Minister of Energy, invited Ukraine to take part in the construction of the plant for thermal assemblies and have an alternative source of supply in Kazakhstan».
