Within one and half a year Kyrgyzstan can acquire energy independence, says Atambayev

Jalal-Abad region. June 20. Silkroadnews - Kyrgyzstan will be able to achieve energy independence within a year and half, said President Almazbek Atambayev.
"After a year or two we will be able to achieve energy independence. It is expected to complete construction of energy facilities. In particular, in 2016 will be built one of the HPP on the Naryn River. We will complete the construction of the power line "Datca – Kemin" by means of which in 2016 after the launch of the second unit of "Kambar-Ata-2", we will be able to get more power, and we will be independed from our neighbors"- conveys KyrTAG during the opening of the Irenzhit channel in Aksy on Friday.
He also mentioned that in 2016 plans to complete the modernization of Bishkek thermoelectric plant, which will double its capacity.
"Over 20 years of independence, Kyrgyzstan used to kneel and ask others, so the neighbors are waiting for it, but we will not do it anymore. After a year or two Kyrgyzstan will confidently stay on his own feet, and we will not have to worry about gas and electricity anymore", - assured the president.
