Almaty. December 25. Silkroadnews - The WTO will support the SMEs’ development through e-commerce, “People’s Daily” reports.
“The World Trade Organization (WTO) will help small- and medium-sized enterprises (SME) to better seek overseas development through e-commerce,” the report said.
It is noted that the WTO will cooperate with the Electronic World Trade Platform (eWTP), proposed by the Chinese giant of electronic commerce Alibaba.
Statistics of the Ministry of Commerce of China shows, currently the volume of China’s cross-border electronic commerce is about 17% of the country’s exports and imports, with expectation of further growth.
Against the backdrop of the rapidly growing e-commerce in the country and abroad, the WTO seeks greater cooperation with SMEs through e-commerce platforms.
In addition, eWTP can help solve problems related to the SME development infrastructure, including transactions, payment and logistics.
For example, the world’s first pilot zone was launched in Malaysia in September this year, and successfully helped local residents sell their products to Poland and other countries.
