Yuan has fallen against dollar by another 1.62%
Almaty. August 12. Silkroadnews - Yuan fell against the dollar by another 1.62% to 6.33, reported the agency TASS.
"People's Bank of China (central bank) on Wednesday lowered the rate of renminbi (the official name of the yuan) to the US dollar by another 1.6% to 6.33 units per dollar. This is the lowest figure since September 2012"-, says the publication.
Earlier on Tuesday, by a decision of the People's Bank of China, the official exchange rate of the yuan to the dollar was dropped by a record over the past 20 years, 1.9% - up to 6.2298 yuan per dollar.
The regulator said the decision "about optimization techniques" for calculating the exchange rate was made in view of the positive balance of foreign trade of China, as well as the strong position of the yuan against the currencies of other countries.
